Germany Exchange
Exchange ObjectivesThis is a fantastic and unique opportunity for students going into Grade 10, 11 or 12 to participate in a reciprocal academic exchange during the school year.
This exchange aims to:
- promote international goodwill and understanding.
- introduce students to a basic understanding of German culture and language.
- develop German language proficiency and cultural understanding.
Our exchange Includes:
- accompanied travel to Germany.
- two online orientation sessions organized by the BCHLA.
- a ten-week reciprocal exchange starting with your German partner arriving in late August, attending your BC Secondary school and living with you and your family. The same situation, in reverse, will be your experience in Germany in the spring.
- opportunities to participate in school-sponsored activities, often including field trips, and other extracurricular activities and events in Germany.
- the opportunity to forge a life-long friendship.
- year-round administrative support provided by BCHLA.
Cost of the exchange
- $950.00 BCHLA programme fee.
- Airfare (to be paid directly to the BCHLA travel agent).
- Travel Insurance.
- Spending money.
- Cost of hosting a German student for 10 weeks.
Fee structure is subject to change, as are airfare costs.
